Books just have to breathe sometimes. I don’t know that we can ever truly “abandon” a story that we’ve spent so much time and toil on. But I know I definitely need breathing space from manuscripts sometimes.
K. M. – I do agree with you! It looked like I had abandoned that book, but it was part of a bigger process, and I still intend to publish it! I just turned in my next article – and it will explain the angst that these articles have explored up ’til now! 🙂
