I am excited to host September’s Carnival Against Child Abuse.
This blog carnival’s mission is to raise awareness about the serious issue of child abuse. All forms of abuse–physical, emotional, sexual, spiritual, verbal–are discussed. We highlight blog posts to child abuse survivor stories and their art & poetry, child abuse as a topic in the news media, as well as PTSD, dissociation and other areas of the abuse “aftermath” that adult survivors are forced to deal with. We link to hopeful posts about therapy, recovery and healing from abuse. All forms of child advocacy and awareness are included.
As I have moved along my journey to healing, the concept of the inner child has been extremely important. As I have shared about it, others have echoed that sentiment! We will honor our inner child, and share how they have been a part of our path to healing!
Please submit anything related to inner child and child abuse. As always, you do not have to limit yourself to this month’s theme. All submissions are welcome.
Submissions are due by Wednesday, September 15 and I will publish on Friday, September 17.
Submit at: Blog Carnival Submissions
On the submission page you will be asked to pick a category of: Advocacy & Awareness; Aftermath; Art Therapy; Healing & Therapy; In the News; Poetry; or Survivor Stories. Your blog itself does not need to be about child abuse, just the post you are submitting. Feel free to submit older articles and/or more than one article.
I look forward to receiving and presenting your submissions! Please spread the word!

Dan, I sent you all of the Inner Child Letters Series posts that I have written. You can pick and choose or use them all – your choice. It won’t hurt my feelings if you don’t use them all. You can figure out how they best fit into this month’s Carnival. I also didn’t list the category for them to go under for that reason. I still have one more of these letters to write, maybe two. I am looking forward to reading all of the entries that you receive this month.
Great Patricia – I’ll look at them, because for an inner child issue, I knew you’d have wonderful things to share! Not sure how many submissions we’re going to get – Marj had to do this one a bit early this month, so there’s not a lot of lead time! But it should be powerful!
Wow, Dan, this is so great that you’re doing this. Maybe I’ll enter!
Ellen, delighted if you’d like to contribute! As you can see by the submission note, it’s not limited to the topic du jour, but can be on a number of different topic areas! It’s a neat blog, and I’m glad to help out by hosting!
I was just recently introduced to blog carnivals and how they work. I submitted a blog. Thanks for the opportunity to share.
Your blog is great! Thank you for using your voice to bring hope and healing to others.
Thank you Meggs! I just received your submission, and delighted that you shared it with us! What a wonderful picture of your child, and yes, I do understand the process of coming to accept the inner child concept. It took me a while too! Thanks also for the kind words on my blog!
Dan, I posted an article on sexual violence. As always, I appreciate the suggestion. This is a wonderful forum with great exposure. I don’t know where you find the time to do all you do but don’t stop!
Yea Randi! Glad to have you joining us in this forum! Marj – Thriver – is the one who keeps it going, and I’m glad to help by hosting! Things like this, the time passes fast because they’re so worthwhile!
I just submitted my entry. Thanks very much for hosting and giving everyone the opportunity to contribute.
Thanks Rick! I got your submission. Delighted to have your wonderful thoughts on forgiveness – a very powerful subject for abuse victims! You particularly caught my attention with forgiveness as a sacred process. It sure is, but I’d never heard it phrased that way! I’m honored to be able to host and be a part of this whole process!
This looks great, Dan! I just knew you were going to be an excellent host and you’re proving that already! I’ll go get this info added to the BlogCarnival dot com listing and get my own submission ready to go.
Marj – Thank you so much for the kind comments! I’m having so much fun with this newsletter!
Thanks for hosting the carnival this month. I have submitted two posts, yet Iam aware that my English is not always best. I leave it up to you, whether you present what I have submitted or not. Hugs from this side of the pond.
Paula – thank you so much for sharing! You write from such a thriving, victorious viewpoint that it is very inspiring! I have already included both of your posts, and delighted to do so! As to your English – it was just fine. I made one small change, and posted the rest as you wrote it! Wonderful sharing! The duckling and the knight – I can relate to both of those! I know victim to choicemaker will inspire many others to seek the benefit you got from your expressive art therapy!
Thanks so much for hosting Dan. I look forward to contributing. Hopefully I’ll give a different twist on the topic!
You bet Paul! I’m having a lot of fun, and delighted to host! I’ll be looking forward to your twist on the inner child topic! By the way, I liked the way you handled poetry when you hosted – about not providing commentary. I thought it was so well done, that I did something similar! I do agree, poetry is individual, and just let it be!
Can you provide more information on this? take care
You can go to my main blog page, and you’ll see where we did issue the September Edition of The Carnival Against Child Abuse. It was an Inner Child edition, and there are a lot of great entries! Enjoy!
